About "Producer Blair"
Hey all! My name’s Blair Davies and I am the Producer for Jason Rooney on the Drive Home. I was born September 6, 1984 (which makes me the baby around the station). I was born in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I’ve lived in Vegas for the majority of my life.
This is my very first attempt at a position at a radio station. It’s kind of a big position for my first time around. I can still remember the first time listening to Mix (back in, like, 1998) and knowing right off the bat I wanted to work here. I remember hearing all the different voices and personalities and saying to myself, “I’ll be there one day.”
Ha. After THREE years of putting my résumé and my application in once a week for any random opening here, I finally got a call back for a Music Researcher for Infinity / CBS in June of 2005. Once I got there, I knew it was just a matter of time before I made my way over to Mix. So, after about 6 months, through a mutual friend, I went over and met Jason. I got to know him and he showed me & taught me what I needed to know. Then around 4 months later, Jason asked me if I wanted to produce for him, I said “YES!” and the rest is kind of history (for now).
I’m pretty quiet when you first meet me, but please don’t let that fool you. I have an incredibly big mouth and I love to laugh. I don’t party or drink or anything like that, but I can get crazy at station events. You can usually find me following Jason to his remotes or being loud and crazy at Underground Lounges. I’m usually the one our boss, Justin, is “shhhhhing.” I love just hanging out with friends and driving around town, stalking supposed celebrities that own homes here.
I should probably tell you the kind of music I’m into. No matter what you hear on air, I AM NOT EMO. I like all kinds of music. The Beatles, The Goo Goo Dolls and Anberlin are my all time favs. I love tons of music from Bublé to Hanson (yes. That’s Hanson). From Fall Out Boy to Spice Girls. From random Christian artists to the instrumental Target brand stuff. I’m pretty all over the place with my taste in music.
Oh yeah.
And I love my iPod.
