About Jay
 Hey there - I'm Jay. Born and raised on the mean streets of Fulda, Minnesota (you won't find it on a map, I promise) (webmaster note: I couldn't find it, but Google can), Las Vegas is the largest city I've ever called home. That being the case, I'm loving it here, as every day holds something new and exciting.
I'm a graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University - I have my Bachelor's degree majoring in Speech Communication: emphasis in Radio & TV. I would have a minor in Graphic Design, but I didn't feel like taking one required course (a History of Graphic Design course), so there's that. I think I might try for a Master's degree someday, but that would take ambition, and for now I'm tapped out on that front.
I came from a Top 40 station in Marshall, MN, doing a normal night shift during the week, a hip-hop mixshow on Saturdays, and an indie/alternative rock show on Sundays. I love damn near every genre of music, except Country made after 1999 or so. (Right around when they started calling some of it "Hot Country".) I'm not a total hater though - everyone has their tastes, and as long as you're having a great time listening to what you're listening to, that's what I'm all about. My personal favorite music is punk rock and indie hip-hop.
When I'm not doing radio stuff, I like to play video games (like Shawn Tempesta, I also have a Wii - unlike him I won't let you play mine, even if you're nice), go out and play Blackjack (the Sunset Klondike is the best dive in town, in my opinion), mess around with my digital camera (though I'm nowhere near as good as Fred at PhotoFM.com), and watch TV shows on DVD (Family Guy, The Office and Aqua Teen Hunger Force are among my all-time favorites). I'm always down for something new, though. Sitting around at home just seems like a waste of time most nights.
Finally, no - us Minnesotans don't talk like the people in the movie "Fargo"; and yes - the winters are really as bad as they make them out to be. I'm just happy to be out here in the desert for a while. :)
